The LGB-T (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) Community of our area has gone too long with little support and recognition. Gay Ammanford is here to support, inform, consult, and represent the LGB-T community of the Ammanford and surrounding valley areas.
Gay Ammanford run a fortnightly Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB-T) group in Ammanford. Here you will have the opportunity to chat to Gay Ammanford members as well as Hate Crime Officers and various other members of the LGB-T Community. The sessions take place fortnightly, on Wednesday evenings at a safe and easily accessible central Ammanford location (2ACTIV8, Wind Street). If you, or somebody you know would like to come along, or you want to find out more about Dyfed Powys’ newest and most exciting LGB-T project, click above to go to the GayAmmanford website.

In Spring 2005 it seemed as if all the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender community helplines in Wales were about to disappear. But a new service ‘LGBT CYMRU HELPLINE’ has arisen from the ashes to provide a service for the whole of the LGBT community across Wales. The Line operates between 7 and 9 Mondays and Wednesday (voice mail other times) Please leave your message and someone will get back to you... Alternatively you can e-mail us: lgbtcymruhelpline.org.uk

Speak to trained volunteers about your problems - we're here to listen! We provide support and information on LGBT issues and social events. Don't hesitate to share information about the LGBT communities, about scene and non-scene activities with us. Isolation can often be a problem, even in Swansea or Cardiff.

Meetings are held in various venues across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings in the middle of the month. There is also a Saturday Social at the beginning of the month and a Sunday Lunch at the end Members are sent an invitation each month by post which gives all details, including a 'deadline' by which invitations may be accepted; The cost of the meal, etc., is charged at the restaurant or pub to each individual who settles his or her bill in the usual way. Venues are chosen on the basis of good food that is also good value for money. A comfortable atmosphere is important, as is the acceptability of casual dress.
